Environmental Services Utility (ESU) Awarded ComEd Grant to Enhance Streetlights in Kankakee

Kankakee, IL – Updating streetlights is on the horizon for the City of Kankakee. The Environmental Services Utility (ESU) was recently awarded a ComEd grant in the amount of $18,500. The funds will need to be used by the end of August 2021.

Kankakee, IL –  Four local students are set to receive Mayor Wells-Armstrong’s African American Civic Leaders’ Scholarship in the amount of $2,000 each. Funds for the scholarship were raised by community partners, local businesses, leaders, and private donors. No taxpayer funds were utilized.
