Kankakee, IL – Captain Eric Boness has been appointed as the Kankakee Fire Department’s Deputy Fire Chief effective February 1, 2020. Boness has served in the department for 29 years as Shift Commander, Company Officer, Training Officer, and EMS Coordinator. In 1999, Boness was promoted to Lieutenant and to captain in 2005.

Kankakee, IL – Previously, the City of Kankakee’s video gaming fees were due February 1st annually. The fees are now due April 30th at the same time as liquor fees. For each 12-month period, an annual fee in the amount of $250 for each video gaming terminal is paid by the business owner under Ordinance number 2020-04.

Kankakee, IL – Christmas trees will be picked up and recycled on regular garbage and recycling days. Residents can place their tree where they would normally put their trash or brush to be collected. The trees can also be placed in the back alley of the residence.
