Kankakee, IL — Mayor Christopher W. Curtis will once again provide turkeys or ham with other Thanksgiving related sides to members of the community. This event, sponsored by local businesses and the Mayor, will provide free Thanksgiving dinners to residents on a first-registered, first-served basis.

Kankakee, IL – Beginning Monday, October 17, and running through Friday, December 2, 2022, the City of Kankakee will begin leaf collection for city residents. Leaf crews will be in your area on your regular garbage day.

In order to assist Kankakee residents to be informed on the referendum question they will be asked on the ballot this fall, the City of Kankakee will host two Home Rule information sessions in coming weeks to discuss the scope of Home Rule authority and how the City has used it.
