Kankakee, IL – The City of Kankakee Police Department is thrilled to announce the launch of the Citizen Police Academy, an engaging program designed to foster a better understanding between our community and the dedicated men and women who serve and protect.

The City of Kankakee has allocated $350,000.00 from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to fund the ‘Kankakee Works’ grant program for small businesses who faced negative economic impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic. The City expects to award up to 20 businesses with this one-time grant on a reimbursement basis for expenses that must have occurred

Kankakee, IL – The City of Kankakee Police Department is now accepting applications for an 8-week Hispanic Citizen Police Academy to be held this fall. The academy will begin on November 15, 2023 and continue every Wednesday night until January 10, 2024.
