Kankakee Police Investigate Homicide

At about 1:50 PM on December 4, 2020, officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 1300 block of West Station Street.  Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old male with gunshot wounds in a parked vehicle.  The male, Patrick Chism of Bourbonnais, was transported to a local hospital where he subsequently died from his wounds.

City Council and Committee Meetings to Zoom for Remainder of Year

Kankakee, IL –City council meetings and all committee meetings will be conducted via Zoom for the rest of the year. The recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases and Tier 2 mitigations led to the decision. Tier 2 mitigations reduces the size of gatherings to 10 people or less in both indoor and outdoor settings.
