A relaxing afternoon of golf
Fishing along the Kankakee River Fishing abounds in the Kankakee River and several area lakes and quarries. The Kankakee River Valley Fishing Derby offers over $300,000 in cash and prizes each year.
  
Kankakee River State Park and Kankakee Valley Park District have over 37 miles of hiking/biking/cross country skiing trails.
 
Climbing in the Rock Creek canyon
The Kankakee River State Park attracts over a million visitors each year for camping, fishing and hiking along the scenic limestone cliffs of Rock Creek, and canoeing on the Kankakee River.
 
Sports and fitness buffs can choose from among 10 area health clubs and 10 sports facilities in the area.
