District 111 is the largest unit district in Kankakee
County with programs for over 5600 students from preschool through twelfth grade. District
111 is one of the few districts in the state to offer a program of parent choice. Parents
may enroll their student in their neighborhood school or apply for a special magnet school
program. Elementary magnet programs feature a focus on either math, computers, science,
fine arts, language and technology, the special instructional style of Montessori, or
individualized education. There is a creative and performing arts magnet open to junior
