The City of Kankakee will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 20th, 2017 at 6:45 pm, in the Public Safety Center at 385 East Oak Street, Kankakee, IL 60901 in order to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federal funded Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) project. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact Anjanita Dumas, City Clerk at 815.933.0480 no later than Friday, November 17th, 2017 at 5:00 pm. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.

On or about Friday, December 1st, 2017, The City of Kankakee intends to apply to the Illinois Department of Transportation for the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program. This program is funded by Section 1122 of MAP-21, which provides for the reservation of funds apportioned to a State under section 104(b) of title 23 to carry out Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). These funds are to be used for a transportation enhancement project that will include the following activities: Design and Construction of Proposed Riverfront Trail Phase IIIA Improvements.

Information related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of (11/15/17) at the office (City Hall, 304 S Indiana Avenue, Kankakee, IL 60901; 815.933.0480) between the hours of (9am – 4pm). Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to (Anjanita Dumas, City Clerk) no later than (11/17/17) in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared by City of Kankakee and is also available to the public. This project will result in no displacement of any persons or businesses.
