CITY OF KANKAKEE

All persons who are interested in the position of Firefighter for the City of Kankakee

The following are the basic requirements:

  ·         Valid Illinois driver’s license

High School diploma or equivalent

United States citizen
·       
Good moral character – no felony convictions
·       
Qualify on written test, oral interview and physical ability test
·       
Pass a background investigation, psychological and medical evaluation
·       
Must be between 20 and 35 years of age (must be 21 years of age at time of appointment)

An orientation and tutorial session (mandatory attendance) will be held at Kankakee Community College on River Road in Kankakee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Applications must be completed and turned in at this mandatory meeting

 Further information will be provided in the application packets, which will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday, February 16, 2010 to March 9, 2010, at Kankakee City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office, 304 S. Indiana Ave., Kankakee, Illinois.
