Dawn Landwehr joined the City in 2023 as in-house legal counsel.  Ms. Landwehr has worked and lived in Kankakee County for thirty years, the last 22 years in the City of Kankakee. Her prior positions include serving as a prosecutor, serving as an assistant public defender, and maintaining a private law office for over 20 years.

Ms. Landwehr previously served on the Kankakee Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.

Ms. Landwehr holds a Bachelor of Arts from Olivet Nazarene University, and a Juris Doctor from the John Marshall Law school.
